Famed billionaire Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) kicked off the Year of the Dragon with a sweet serenade of “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad.” The rendition was masterfully paired with Buffett skillfully playing the ukele. The video originally aired on CCTV on the first day of the Lunar New Year, but is quickly making the rounds on the web. This isn’t the first time Buffett’s foray into music has gone viral either.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Buffett had recorded the video for a charity event over a year ago and was initially reluctant to have the video air for the holiday celebration. Evidently, he eventually relented.
Xie xie to you, Mr. Buffett.
Year of the Dragon
In accordance to the lunar calendar, the Chinese New Year of the Dragon begins on January 23rd of the Gregorian year 2012. The festivities continue for 15 days, honoring religious and historic traditions with special family rituals and foods.
The New Year represents a time to thank the Spirits, commemorate past battles, visit family, demonstrate kindness, and gift presents to symbolize luck and health.
The celebration ends with the lantern festival, which features the dragon dance performance, thousands of colorful paper lanterns, and the brightest moon of the month.
