Dan Steffens EquitiesDan Steffens is the President of Energy Prospectus Group (EPG), a networking organization based in Houston, Texas.  He is a 1976 graduate of Tulsa University with an undergraduate degree in Accounting and a Masters in Taxation.

Mr. Steffens began his career in public accounting, becoming licensed as a CPA in 1978.  After four years in public accounting, he transitioned to the oil & gas industry with the bulk of his time (18 years) spent with Amerada Hess Corporation (HES).  He served as the Hess United States E&P Division Controller from 1994 to 2001 with over 200 employees within his accounting department.

Mr.  Steffens formed Energy Prospectus Group in 2001 while he was still working as a consultant in the energy sector.  EPG is focused on fundamental analysis of publicly traded firms in the energy sector, primarily upstream oil & gas companies.  Its mission is to help members make wise investment choices that have the potential for market beating results.  For the year 2010, the EPG Growth Portfolio increased in value by 72%.  EPG members are primarily high net worth individual investors, petroleum engineers, geologists, financial professionals and energy sector analysts.
